We grow some of the tallest and healthiest chestnut trees in the United States. This shipment includes (5) bare root trees, each 3 to 4 feet tall. They will be shipped in a 4-foot box once they become dormant, likely by mid to late November. They are cold hardy up to Zone 5.
All our trees come from a variety of chestnut genetics, specifically Castanea Mollissima, which makes them resistant to blight. We plant seeds each spring in 3-gallon air pruning pots. Air pruning leads to more roots, which means faster growth, less transplant shock, and prevents roots from circling, unlike pots from big retailers. We prioritize quality over quantity. Last year, we sold out by early July, so be sure to reserve your trees today!
Why fall planting and why choose us?
Our trees at the end of the growing season are more developed than bare-root trees planted by many growers in the spring.
Spring planting often means higher risk, busy schedules, missed watering during summer heat, and ultimately lost trees. Fall planting allows trees to go into the ground while dormant, requiring less care and experiencing less stress. Cooler temperatures and seasonal rainfall give them the best chance to establish strong roots before spring growth begins.
We also stand behind our trees. With nearly 25 years of experience in customer service, supporting you after the sale matters to us. This farm represents a lifelong dream, and we care deeply about seeing these trees, and your investment thrive.
***NOTE *** We will not be able to ship to Arizona, Alaska, Hawaii, California, or New Mexico at this time. Thank you!
